Sasol’s Accessible Qatar initiative is proud to announce the launch of the AI for Accessibility and Inclusion report. This significant report was developed following a roundtable at the World Innovation Summit for Education (WISE) and represents a collaborative effort between Sasol’s Accessible Qatar initiative, Qatar’s Ministry of Social Development and Family (MSDF) and WISE.
Moderated by Dr. Joselia Neves, the roundtable session delved into AI’s transformative potential and addressed key topics such as independence, privacy, and education, with a strong focus on ethical AI development and inclusivity. The discussion brought together a wide range of stakeholders, including policymakers, educators, industry specialists, and Qatar’s community of persons with disabilities and advocates.
This inclusive session led to the integration of key recommendations within the WISE Policy report that can be seen here: https://www.wise-qatar.org/wise-11-summit-report-policy-recommendations/ and the development of the AI for Accessibility and Inclusion report that explores the potential of Accessible AI and addresses crucial topics with a focus on ethical AI development, equity, and inclusion. The recommendations, resources, and appendices within the report are designed to ignite a broader conversation and foster collaborative efforts across multiple sectors.
A dedicated and fully accessible platform is now hosting the report that can be downloaded in Arabic, English and Braille. It is hoped the platform will serve as a hub for ongoing engagement and collaboration, driving forward the agenda of AI for accessibility and inclusion in Qatar and beyond.
