West Bay Beach (WBB), a leading beach destination in Doha, is proud to announce the launch of its groundbreaking PR campaign, “Inclusivity at WBB: Breaking Barriers, Embracing All.” As part of this initiative, WBB has implemented an accessibility ramp, making it the first beach in Doha to cater to the needs of individuals with mobility challenges, namely those who rely on wheelchairs.
With a deep commitment to providing a welcoming and inclusive environment for all visitors, West Bay Beach recognized the need to remove physical barriers that limited access to the beach. The newly installed accessibility ramp demonstrates WBB’s dedication to breaking down these barriers and ensuring that people of all abilities can enjoy the beauty and tranquility of the beach.
The accessibility ramp, designed in collaboration with experts in accessibility and mobility, is a thoughtfully engineered structure spanning 43.5 meters in length and 2 meters in width. It is constructed using durable, non-slip materials like Bamboo and stainless steel, ensuring both safety and longevity. This significant addition features a gentle incline that allows individuals using wheelchairs or any mobility devices to effortlessly navigate the sandy terrain and reach the waterfront. It ensures that everyone, regardless of their physical abilities, can now experience the joy and freedom of a beach visit.
The implementation of the accessibility ramp at WBB is a testament to the ongoing commitment of the management and staff to prioritize inclusivity. This initiative aligns with WBB’s mission to provide a safe, enjoyable, and inclusive environment that fosters a sense of belonging for all beachgoers.
